A heat pump uses a small amount of energy to move heat from one area to another. Heat pumps pull heat out of the air to heat water. The heat pump is able to extract thermal energy from the air even in very cold conditions. In this way the heat pump uses very little electrical energy to achieve heating. The heating efficiency is measure in COP (co-efficient of performance) Using 1 unit of electricity and yielding up to 5 units of heating energy. The heat pumps are supplied in various sizes according to the area and volume of the pool and whether it has a solar blanket fitted or not.

UPVC Solar Collectors
The collectors are installed on a north facing roof and connected in series, parallel or combination according to the size and water volume of the pool. EcoSmart will calculate the optimum number of collectors to install.
Solar Pool Blankets
Some solar pool blankets can raise the pool temperature. The pool blanket prevents evaporation and heat loss caused by the effects of evaporation. Approximately 80% of heat loss on a swimming pool occurs on the water surface and 20% on the wall and floor surfaces.
